Kip
Shipley has guided the Golden Eagles women’s
soccer team for the first four years of
the programs existence. In those four years
he has run their record to 29-27-3 (.517
winning percentage). He has also developed
10 NCAA DIII Independent All-Americans,
including a National Freshman of the year,
and he was a 2007 DIII Coach of the Year
nominee.
Before
coming to La Sierra, Shipley spent 5 years
on the coaching staff at MiraCosta College
in San Diego . In addition, he has coached
both girls and boys high school soccer programs
and spent several years as a professional
trainer for the Leucadia Lightning Soccer
Club. Shipley was also an Olympic Development
Clinician in the Southern Sections for several
years.
Shipley
played for Cal Poly Pomona where he was
captain, leading scorer and All California
Collegiate Athletic Association--First Team.
In addition, upon graduation, he left his
name in the "all time top 10 lists"
in each scoring category for Cal Poly. Shipley
went on to play in the Pacific Soccer League
(PSL) for the Orange Coast Rangers.
Coach
Shipley has earned his NSCAA National Diploma
(distinguished pass), his NSCAA Advanced
Diploma, and his goalkeeper level 1 and
2 diplomas. He has a Manchester United Coaching
Certificate and a USSF license. He received
his Bachelors Degree from Cal Poly Pomona
and his Masters Degree from Azusa Pacific
University. |
